Today started at 4:00 am because I had to be on a call that was taking place on the other side of the world at 5 am my time. For them, it was the end of a very long day of being on the phone for a meeting. Since I planned to plug my video on, I found myself slapping some make up on and putting on a proper top. I think it helps a lot to use video.
Today was the first day in this job where I felt I had engagement. A breakthrough. One I really needed. I received feedback afterward from the people who matter that it went well. Phew! I then jumped in the shower to go to my next call at 6:30 am (luckily, we moved the call to the phone so I could do it from home). I got back to my desk and saw a missed call - I think they all thought I was clean on the first call and were surprised that I wasn't at my desk.
As I type this post, I am thrilled to say that my 8 am call was just canceled so I get a break! Yipee since I have email to write ... I managed to get through 300 emails last night!
So this is probably the most boring post I have ever written but my main message is there is HOPE!
