Life is so much better right now. We had quite the adventure today.
I took a taxi yesterday to Leah's and the taxi driver was really nice. Lena, her housekeeper, let me in and we chatted for a bit. Leah arrived and we set out to run errands. It was pretty humid out. We ended up in the cool plaza near her place that has a beautiful church and a number of restaurants. We sat at our favorite bar and had a nice cool vermouth. I only drink it here. It was wonderful with a potato salad with tuna. We had a few drinks and some bravas and headed home. We put away the groceries and chilled. I think we both had a long week and passed out early. I woke up a few times during th night. Leah was up waiting for the painter who never showed up at 8 am.
Her patio is great. I should snap some photos. We sat outside enjoying fresh oj, a selection of cheese and ham and some great coffee. What else could one want? It was fabulous.
We showered and got dressed. We were waiting for her parent's best friend to show up. They were going to spend the night on their way to a cruise. They called from the airport to tell us they were here and to ask how much they should tip the taxi driver. We waited. The door bell rang and we went to get them. We helped them with their luggage and I asked if there was anything else out there. They said no. They asked for the air conditioning. We hung out on the patio for a while when Carol said that she needs to put Harvey's medicine in the fridge. Next thing we hear is: "Harvey, where is the gray suitcase?" We quickly discovered they left on the street and it had vanished.
I stayed low. They were insured and had some cameras and clothes in there. They had their documents and other items. We all headed out to the Barcelona police station where they told us they have a backlog and we'd have to wait for 2 hours. They logged our case and we went to a wonderful tapas bar where we had a fabulous lunch and some soothing white wine. It's hot out.
We then returned to the police station and there was no one there. The report was filed within 20 minutes and we were on our way to buy a hat and a camera. Now, everyone is napping. I am enjoying the AC and just breathing.
