The check in process was a painful process; it was like they were doing me a favor by letting me stay here. It ended with a bird almost crashing into the wall.
The best is that if you want to sit at the beach, bring your check book. They will charge to your room $30 for an umbrella and $10 per lounge chair. The towel is free! How ridiculous. There is no drink service at the beach, which is right behind the pool. I was hoping to get a massage but not even going to try it as so far everything here has been mediocre.
I am going to stop now with the hotel and move to our dinner ...
There were 7 of us and we had a 8:30 pm reservation. Part of my group were really jet lagged after flying from Dubai, South Africa, Frankfurt, London, etc. We wanted to eat. They told us that our table wasn't ready. We waited. The manager came out and asked us if we wanted to look at another table. I went to look and there was no way we could fit 7 people around it. He pointed to the table we were waiting for and said they are paying their bill. I said that we would fit there and will need to wait. I made a joke about onion rings and went back to the entry.
They brought out a plate of onion rings as we continued to wait. Nice touch. After a while, the manager came back and told us they actually have a table outside. It was always empty! Anyhow, we got situated and ordered our drinks.
One of my friends loves Ruth Chris and always wants their mashed potatoes and creamed spinach, apart from the steak of course.
We ordered and were happy that we would be eating shortly.
Well, they ran out of the creamed spinach, which did not go down with my friend and the sauteed spinach was a disappointment.
My steak was totally over cooked and so was another one. But it was fun to be together and we had a great time.
Everyone loved the shoestring fries but it took forever to get our second order. Maybe they didn't know we were outside?
Then my creamed spinach friend wanted a banana dessert... guess what? They ran out!
